What is short-run injection molding?
Short-run injection molding covers batches of roughly 100 to 5,000 plastic parts. Shops keep tooling costs down with aluminum, MUD (Master Unit Die) frames, or shared bases so the fixed tool bill is closer to $5k–$15k than the $30k+ typical of soft-steel production tools.
